I second the opinions of others advising you to stay away. To me what you are trying to do is akin to jumping into quick sand so you can better understand the properties of sillica based products.

Be very careful, the methods of hooking you in and controlling you are the same irrespective of the language used - they are based on human psycology and we are all hardwired the same under the hood.

my story, would like some advice

im looking for some advice.. so i grew up as a witness was baptized when i was seventeen, which by the way i was pushed into baptizm cuse my parents kept asking me when i was and threatned to not buy me a car if i didnt get baptized.

since it was never in my heart i was never very dedicated and was disfellowshipped by nineteen i started the process of coming back but after bout four months i moved out.

i started partying alot mainly with my other disfellowshipped friends and nonactive jw frien, we were drinking alot and smoking weed but soon i started feeling the need to go back so i started up at the meetings but i got bored and went back to my old ways, this has been what i have been doing for the last five years, partying getting drunk and drugs and then stopping and going back to the meetings for a couple months, the same process for last the last almost five years.

Welcome to the board!

It may sound cliche but you have to find what makes you happy. A hobby, an educational goal, a career, volunteering, etc. Partying and drugs can be fun (not that I would know) but it's to a point and you seem to have reached this point. Take time away for a few weeks if circumstances permit, go on a vacation, think about what do you want from life.

On the other hand, I am happy to see that you can cut through the Watchtower's nonsense and get a grip on its deceptive ways.

Sorry to hear about how your family treats you - this is just one more indicator of how great the "good News" really are.

Makes you wonder why are some of the tools of the preaching work put under the kibosh? Shouldn't it be available to all to benefit?

Comparison with and following an "earthly" commercial model of licensing doesn't seem to be very bible like, is it? What is the WT licensing and protecting - the word of God?

" however, we know the jw stance is really "if you aren't a jw, you are doomed.

" but apparently these elders said that wasn't the case.

So what do they say if you asked them to read to you the following:

WT1989 9/1 pg.19 par.7

"....7 Only Jehovah’s Witnesses, those of the anointed remnant and the “great crowd,” as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil. (Revelation 7:9-17; 2 Corinthians 4:4)"

But apparently these elders said that wasn't the case. They pretty much said if people didn't know about Jehovah's Witnesses, they would not be judged since they never got the chance to know about Jehovah.

They are lying through their teeth! Here is the quote from the WT to ask them to read and explain to you:
